Biography

David Resser is a seasoned intellectual property attorney who focuses on patent and trademark preparation and prosecution, primarily in the mechanical and electro-mechanical arts. David counsels clients in all matters of patentability and validity and renders opinions on potential infringement issues.

David has expertise patenting a wide range of mechanical devices for power transmission equipment, fluid dispensing equipment, exercise machines, and mechanical aircraft components. His experience extends to prosecuting patent applications for power equipment (both wheeled and non-wheeled), fire protection equipment, pistons for IC engines, mixing devices, refrigerator and stove devices, radiation detection using boron, ceramic extrusion and manufacturing, filter elements, and lighting applications.

Prior to earning his law degree, David worked as a mechanical engineer designing components, sub-assemblies, and machine layouts for automated foundry equipment. David has received specialized training regarding highly protected risk (HPR) property loss prevention. He has conducted engineering analysis and evaluations for both mechanical and structural components and processes including fire protection water supplies. His extensive experience allows him to meet the demands of the industries in which his clients operate.

David earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Akron School of Law in 2011 where he received CALI awards in the classes of U.S. Patent Prosecution and International Patent Law. David holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University.
