About Bonnie

Bonnie's practice includes prior art searches, clearance and non-infringement opinions, patent application preparation, domestic and foreign prosecution, and appeals. Bonnie handles patent matters in various mechanical and electrical technologies including aerospace devices and control systems, hydraulic pumps and motors, heating and cooling systems, motor vehicle door locks, filters and filtration materials, electromechanical devices, LED display devices, robotics, food processing and packaging machines, and consumer electronics. Bonnie works closely with a variety of clients, from Fortune 500 companies to solo inventors and startup companies. 

Prior to joining Renner Otto, Bonnie was involved in domestic and foreign patent prosecution matters related to the automotive industry in the metro-Detroit region. Bonnie worked with a tier one automotive supplier in automotive engineering technologies including transmissions, transfer cases, drivetrains, and engine timing systems. Bonnie also has experience preparing and prosecuting trademark applications.

While attending law school, Bonnie was selected to compete nationally as an oralist for the Moot Court team. Bonnie also clerked at the United States Patent and Trademark Office for the (former) Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences in Alexandria, Virginia, where she prepared judicial opinions in ex parte appeals and interferences.
