About Kathryn

Kathryn’s practice primarily includes preparing and prosecuting patent applications, performing prior art searches and assisting in clearance and non-infringement analysis.  During her time at Renner Otto, she has handled a wide variety of patent matters involving technologies in the chemical, biomedical, mechanical and computer arts at various stages of patent procurement.

Kathryn began as a law clerk with Renner Otto in May 2015 while attending Case Western Reserve University School of Law and became an associate in 2017.  In law school, Kathryn concentrated her studies on Intellectual Property Law, focusing primarily on patent preparation and prosecution.  In her third year of law school, Kathryn served in CWRU’s Intellectual Property Venture Clinic where she helped counsel and assist several solo-inventors and entrepreneurs in securing intellectual property protection for their ventures.  Kathryn graduated magna cum laude with her Juris Doctor in May 2017.

Prior to attending law school, Kathryn received her Bachelor of Science with honors from Central Michigan University, where she studied Neuroscience and Biomedical Sciences.  While attending CMU, Kathryn worked as a student researcher in a Molecular Biology and Genetics laboratory where she spent two years studying the cause of neurotoxicity in various neurodegenerative diseases.
