About Mark

Mark’s practice focuses on patent prosecution and counseling in the areas of electronics and software. Mark has handled patent matters in a wide range of technologies including aerospace systems, telecommunications, networking, optics, solar, and display technologies. Mark has experience working with a variety of clients from start-ups to fortune 500 companies. He is registered to practice in California and before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Prior to joining Renner Otto, Mark worked in the Silicon Valley office for an AM Law 100 firm. Mark worked on non-infringement opinions, patent application preparation, domestic and foreign prosecution, and appeals. While attending law school, Mr. Wolfgang was Staff Editor for I/S: A Journal of Law and Policy for the Information Society and served as a judicial extern in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio. Mark focuses his pro bono practice on representing Veterans before the United States Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims.

Prior to launching his legal career, Mr. Wolfgang was an Engineer at General Dynamics Electric Boat where he assisted with the development of software and at-sea testing for the Virginia-Class Submarine Program. Mr. Wolfgang has served as an Air Transportation Supervisor in the United States Air Force since 2005 and is currently assigned as a member of the Air Force Reserve’s 76th Aerial Port Squadron (APS) at Youngstown Air Reserve Base. Mark is also a licensed private pilot.
