Summary
Mr. Bis joined the firm as an associate in 2010. His main focus is on patent preparation, and prosecution. He also does work in preparing patent infringement, validity, patentability, and freedom-to-market opinions. He has handled matters involving a variety of technologies in the mechanical, electrical, and software arts.
While attending the University of Michigan Law School, Mr. Bis was chosen as a Microsoft Law, Economics, and Technology Student Fellow and received awards for excellence in Taxation and Foreign Affairs Law.
Before beginning his legal career, Mr. Bis interned at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Lab where he developed and tested a data acquisition and control system, and he worked as a graduate research assistant at Virginia Tech working with unmanned aerial vehicles and agricultural robots.
