Summary
Tom Fistek represents and counsels clients of all sizes with the preparation and prosecution of U.S. and foreign patent applications. A large portion of Tom’s practice is focused on the drafting and prosecuting of patent applications in the mechanical and electrical arts, ranging from telecommunications equipment to industrial equipment and components. Tom also has experience in the preparation and prosecution of trademark applications.

Tom also assists clients with their patent infringement and validity concerns, including the preparation of patent infringement, validity, and right-to-market opinions. Additionally, Tom has experience with all levels of litigation including: discovery, pre-trial, trial and appellate strategies and procedures as well as settlement negotiations. Tom’s litigation experience includes cases involving utility and design patent infringement, trademark infringement and unfair competition.

Tom graduated magna cum laude from the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, where he served as an Executive Editor of the Cleveland-Marshall Law Review. Prior to attending Cleveland-Marshall, he worked as a Quality Engineer for the Ford Motor Company at the Lorain Assembly Plant

Tom was recognized as an Ohio Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2011 and is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
